The Natural Life Shop has been trading as an ethical and eco-friendly business since 1996. We work hard to create a warm and welcoming environment within which to shop… plus we pride ourselves on offering you a personalised service, so that you’re not just a number that comes through the door. We are also different from mainstream health food shops as we're happy to provide you with INFORMED advice on our products as some of our staff have undertaken training on our herbal products, flower essences and more as well as living a very green lifestyle and some of whom follow special diets themselves, eg. vegan, gluten or sugar-free!
We specialise in:
- special diet foods ie. vegan, gluten-free, wheat-free, sugar-free,
dairy-free and yeast-free
- WHOLEFOODS, both local & organic;
- natural remedies & supplements;
- natural foods & remedies for animals;
- babycare, including eco-friendly nappies & organic baby clothing;
- eco-friendly cleaning products;
- body care: from cosmetics & shampoos to hair colours & gorgeous
bath products & soaps - which really are what they say they are!
- natural unbleached organic cotton sanitary protection and vegan
condoms and intimate gels;
- and unbleached toilet rolls and kitchen rolls made from organic
cotton - not trees;
Our company ethos is that we believe in organic farming and high ethical standards, as such, we draw attention to, and boycott companies who are not as ethical as they could be. We look behind the label and quiz our suppliers about every aspect of their businesses - so you don’t have to!
We support local producers where we can, so for example, our eggs come from the happiest chickens ever in Plaistow, we have honey from Surrey and West Sussex. We also stock a whole range of face and body care from West Sussex….
We work hard to achieve a balanced view on issues such as foaming agents (like sodium laurel sulphate) and preservatives in body products, and diverse issues such as food miles versus organics.
